Para traducir '(the) next time' al español, hay que pensar en el marco temporal de la acción: 'la próxima vez que' tiene un sentido prospectivo (mirando al futuro) desde el presente, y casi siempre va seguido del verbo en subjuntivo; 'la siguiente vez que', en cambio, suele tener un sentido retrospectivo (mirando al pasado), y va seguido del verbo en indicativo.
-La próxima vez que te vea, estarás casado — (The) next time I see you, you'll be married
→La siguiente vez que te vi, estabas casado — The next time I saw you, you were married
-La próxima vez que hagas algo así, avísame — (The) next time you do something like that, let me know
→La siguiente vez que lo hizo, me avisó — The next time he did it, he let me know
