-Tienes que hacerte respetar — You have to get people's respect [≈hacer que te respeten]

-Se hicieron oír — They made themselves heard

-Se hizo/Dejó ver al final — He showed himself in the end

-Se ha hecho querer en el pueblo  He has endeared himself to the people in the village

-Lo bueno se hace esperar — Good things come to those who wait (/ keep people waiting)

 

-Se dejó llevar — She got carried away / She went with the flow

-No te dejes pisar/pisotear — Don't let people walk all over you / Don't let yourself be pushed around [≈no dejes que te pisen]

-Decidí dejarme hacer — I let him have his way with me / decided to let him do what he wanted to me [Véase Mi violación]
