-Es un actor conocido en todo el mundo — He's a world-famous actor / known the world over / throughout the world ['En' se usa para expresar ubicación; en este contexto, 'por todo el mundo' se interpretaría por una oración pasiva (≈known by everyone)]
-Está pasando en todo el mundo — It's happening world-wide / all over the world
-En todo el mundo / todas partes del mundo la gente desconfía de los políticos — People distrust politicians the world over/ everywhere in the world
-Ha vendido 20 millones de libros en todo el mundo — He has sold 20 million books worldwide
-Distribuyen componentes por todo el mundo — They distribute components throughout/ all over the world ['Por' suena mejor con verbos que implican movimiento, tránsito, extensión o dispersión]
-Ha navegado por todo el mundo — He's sailed all over/around the world
-Se ha extendido por todo el mundo — It's spread throughout the whole world / all over the world
-Ha dado conciertos en/por todo el mundo — She's played concerts worldwide/ all over the world
-Tengo amigos en/por todo el mundo — He's has friends all over/ around the world
-Miles de satélites giran/están en órbita alrededor del mundo — Thousands of satellites are spinning/in orbit around the earth [Ojo: 'alrededor del mundo' suele ser un calco del inglés, y debe evitarse, salvo cuando se refiere a algo que está fuera de él]
-Quiero dar la vuelta al mundo — I want to go around the world/ do a round-the-world trip [Expresión fija]
