-¿Tienes un momento? Me gustaría comentarte algo — Do you have a minute? I'd like to have a quick word (with you) [Con el verbo 'comentar', se entiende que va a ser algo breve sobre algún tema]
-¿Y él sabe que te vienes a vivir conmigo? -Sí, ayer se lo comenté durante la cena — And does he know you're coming to live with me? -Yes. I mentioned it to him yesterday at dinner [Ojo: como traducción de 'to mention', el verbo 'comentar' se usa bastante más que 'mencionar' (en España), sobre todo cuando hay complemento indirecto de persona]
-¿Está bien, doctor? -A ver, te comento (cuento): en principio no es nada grave, pero tendrá que descansar unos días — Is he all right, doctor? -Look, let me explain briefly/put you in the picture: it's nothing serious, but he'll have to take it easy for a few days [Sin complemento directo]
-Le estaba comentado (diciendo) que mañana no voy a poder ir — I was just telling/saying to her that tomorrow I won't be able to make it
-Era algo que se venía comentando — It was something that had been commented on/ people had been talking about before [Véase venir+gerundio]
-Primero vamos a ver el vídeo juntos, y después lo comentamos con el resto del grupo — First we'll watch the video, then we we'll discuss/ talk about/ comment on it afterwards with the rest of the group
