ver/mirar: aunque los verbos 'ver' y 'mirar' suelen corresponder a 'to see' y 'to look' respectivamente, existen ciertos matices que los diferencian de sus homólogos ingleses; de hecho, el verbo 'ver' puede traducirse por 'to see', 'to look' y 'to watch' según el contexto. -Quiero ver la tele/ la noticias/ la película — I want to watch the TV/ news/ film [En algunos países de Latinoamérica, también se dice 'mirar']
-Estoy viendo una serie nueva — I'm watching a new series
→He visto el último capítulo — I've watched/seen the last episode [En tiempos perfectivos, en inglés se puede decir 'see' o 'watch']
-Estoy viendo la foto ahora mismo — I'm looking at/I can see the picture right now [En continuo, se prefiere el verbo 'to look' en inglés]
→Estoy mirando la foto ahora mismo [Está poniendo atención en ella; quizá inspeccionándola]

→ → →Miré la foto — I looked at the photo
→→→→Veía la foto — I could see the photo [En inglés se usa el verbo 'can' para aportar el aspecto imperfecto -leer más]

-Estoy viendo las protestas desde el balcón— I'm watching/seeing/can see the protests from my balcony
-He estado viendo tu analítica, y creo que habrá que aumentar la dosis — I've been looking at your bloodwork, and I think we'll need to increase the dosage
→He estado mirando tu analítica, y creo que habrá que aumentar la dosis [Más la acción de dirigir la atención o la vista]
-Es otra forma de verlo (mirarlo) — It's a another way of looking at it
-Este tema lo veremos la semana que viene — We'll look at this topic next week [Estudiar, examinar]
-Estoy mirando lo de la inseminación artificial — I'm looking at/into /considering artificial insemination
-Se me quedó mirando — He stood there staring at me [Véase quedarse+gerundio]
→Miraba fijamente — He stared/was staring at me
-Miró el/al suelo — He looked at the ground [Con 'a' se expresa la dirección de la mirada más que el hecho de verlo -leer más]
-Vigílame mi bolsa mientras voy al baño — Watch my bag for me while I go to the toilet
-Te estaba observando — I was watching you
